Explore the stunning day-lit Contemporary Art + Design Wing, which houses the best of the last 25 years in glass, and a 500-seat Amphitheater Hot Shop, a space dedicated to live glass demos and design sessions. See glass created before your eyes during a live, narrated Hot Glass Demo, and be inspired to experience glassmaking for yourself during a Make Your Own Glass workshop, with projects for all ages. Choose from fused picture frames and suncatchers, sandblasted drinking glasses, flameworked beads, pulled-glass flowers, delicate blown ornaments, and seasonal projects (additional fee). A great blend of science and art museum, the facility was much larger than I had expected it to be. We caught three demonstrations and spent a large amount of time in the new glass section. My husband does not normally enjoy museums but had a lot of fun at this one, enjoying both the exhibits and the museum's architecture. I wish I had know the price of the membership before purchasing my tickets, would have just sprung for it. If you are purchasing 2 adults and live close enough to visit one more time that year - get the membership, it is worth it.

We are glad that you and your husband had a great day here! Our facility is very large and there is so much to see and do. We display over 35 centuries of glass art and history as well as offer demos all day, every day, so there is something for everyone to enjoy! You are correct, our Memberships are a great value for those looking to visit more than once throughout the year and come with a great list of benefits. Thank you for reviewing!

There are lots of glass art exhibits that are fascinating. Also have demonstrations of glass making. Several historical exhibits about glass and its' importance, including the development of fiber optic cable. Definitely worth spending a few hours exploring. There is also a retail area where we got some amazing deals on Pyrex.
