His boat is a 50’ Hatteras saltwater fishing boat that can take up to 6 anglers fishing at the same time. Powered by twin 550 HP Detroit Diesel‎ engines, this fishing machine is unstoppable on the water.

The vessel comes rigged with state-of-the-art navigational electronics and safety equipment, outriggers, a fighting chair, a live bait tank, and ice-boxes. It’s also very comfortable and features 2 private restrooms, a kitchen, a flybridge, beds, and AC.

This beauty can take you for some amazing deep sea and reef fishing up to 18 miles offshore on full day trips. This trip will also provide higher chances of catching Marlin!

When we arrived at the marina we sat down with the captain who talked to us about safety and the pricing, then after taking the money he left to get the boat moving. Before getting the boat fully untied, the captain came into the boat and told us that our trip was cancelled since his wife had covid and he was leaving. He gave us our money back then left without helping us to find another captain or help fix the issue. While we were understanding of his need to leave and be with her, the fact that he waited until we were on the boat with him on the morning of the trip when he cancelled really impacted our opinion of the service. We should have been informed much sooner. Furthermore, if he had been recently exposed to covid why would he risk getting my family sick during our one week of vacation. While we understand the circumstances, the experience felt irresponsible and that should be worrisome when these people are taking you out for hours. There are other better charter options in the marina.

I also want to ensure you have a clear understanding of the situation that occurred on the morning of your charter, in hopes that you more fully understand the actions of the Captain, and possibly have a little empathy knowing the decision he was faced with. That said, I want to first make it clear that Corsair II Sportfishing takes COVID protocol very seriously. It's critical to understand that we would never jeopardize our customers or crew in the event of a known exposure to COVID. In regards to your specific charter, you are correct that the Captain received a phone call from his wife the morning of your trip, and that he did make the last minute decision to leave to be with her due to a medical emergency from complications with COVID. What you did not know based on the assumption stated in your review, was that she had been in quarantine away from her husband since she presented symptoms, for multiple days prior to the departure of your charter. Due to this, there was no exposure risk to you or your family. In this specific situation, it became emergent due to the fact that she was having trouble breathing, and in a panic at home alone, she needed assistance getting to the emergency room. Based on the comments in your review, and the concern expressed for your own family, I am certain the outcome would have been the exact same if one of them called you with this type of anxiety. Again, we apologize for the unforeseen circumstance, and truly hope that you are never put in a situation where you are asked to choose anything over a medical emergency of a family member, and if you are, we hope you have the compassion to make the right decision in the best interest of your loved one.
