Discover the roots of country music. Get the audio guide which will help you to understand what you’re seeing and the significance of the exhibit. Listen to some old time recordings and see how the genre evolved. From the Carter family to Kacey Musgraves and everything and everyone in between. This is a special place.

The tour took roughly 2 hours. I was glad we did the audio tour so you didn't have to read every plaque; much nicer with the audio. But the items that have been donated to the music were amazing including one of Elvis's cars and tons of outfits worn by singer after singer going back to Buck Owens to present day Miranda Lambert. In the end you enter a room of all singers inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame with each of their plaques. Just prior to that room, you go through a room of current day singers and outfits they have worn. Overall, it was a great tour. My husband is not a country music fan and he found it quite interesting.

I'm not the biggest country music fan (loved Garth back in the early 90s, then mostly faded from country until a little bit in the last four or five years). This place will help anyone appreciate the influence country music has had on the music industry and pop culture in general. There's lots of cool permanent exhibits, and then quite a few rotating exhibits. The Kacey Musgraves exhibit that is there until sometime in 2020 is very cool as it tracks from her childhood up through her four Grammy wins this year. We also had the audio guide, and it's really detailed (very minor complaint: the volume level changes drastically between some of the talking points).
