Creole Kids Tour in New Orleans

Overview
Take a stroll back in time on this unique 90 minute walking tour of the French Quarter. The teacher-led Creole Kids Tour leads elementary aged kids (and their adults) through 6 blocks of the French Quarter explaining who lived here, why they lived here, and what life was like for kids living here in the 19th century. Kids will see pictures of the past, hold artifacts from the past, and reenact a moment in time. Attending adults will walk away with a better understanding of the city- and some very happy kids! Adults are encouraged to participate or to kick back and let their kids lead the show.

We have two daughter, ages 8&10, and the Creole kids tour was perfect for their ages. Jill taught them a little history of New Orleans and gave them a sense of what young Creole children experienced in the 1700-1800s. We would do a tour with Jill again on our next visit.

My seven year old son was absolutely enthralled with Jill and both tours he was in. We took part in the "Creole Kids" and "Halloween History + All Saints". I was amazed by how skillfully she would handle minor meltdowns, distractions and typical kid goofiness. She made the material relatable and engaging. Her use of props, costumes and phenomenal storytelling skills really enhanced the experience. Coming from Canada we had very little background information to go on and she was a wonderful source of information. After our second tour she sent us a follow up email with some further information and helpful hints. I was impressed with her professionalism and passion and highly recommend her to anyone traveling to New Orleans with their kids. **I apologize for posting this a few months after the fact. I had written this on my phone right after the trip but had forgotten to post this...**

We were travelling with a group of 3 families from Australia with 6 kids aged 5 - 11. We booked three of the tours for the day after we arrived ( Creepy Crescent, Creole Kids and the port, pirates and all the rest). I was very impressed with the content and delivery of each of the tours. All six kids were engaged, interested and had lots of fun, despite our long journey. Jill's methods of delivering the content kept all kids and adults interested in all three tours and meant that we could all be introduced to a lot of information about New Orleans in a way that wouldn't scare the kids. I had shared a couple of preliminary emails with Jill before we arrived in NOLA and she shared a wealth of information that was invaluable. Through Jill we learned about the free PUAP concerts which was another highlight of our trip. I would thoroughly recommend these tours for anyone with children, and when we do come back to New Orleans we will definitely try her new tours.
