Our group of 8 was joined with 3 ladies from Chicago starting in the early afternoon. Our guide was celebrating his birthday with the Creole tradition of several dollars pinned to his shirt identifying him as a birthday boy and open to anyone who wanted to buy him drinks or give him a few dollars. Though no drinks were provided to him, our guide gave an insightful tour including the French Quarter/ St Louis Cathedral/Frenchman Street, By Water, The riverfront - Crescent Park walk and bike trail, St Vincent De Paul Cemetery, Louie Armstrong Park-Congo Square (great background story on Buddy Bolden), St Roch Church. The electric bikes are a marvel and make it quite easy to cover the 14 miles or so where we saw and heard many of the back stories of New Orleans. I highly recommend this tour. Out of the three tours our large group took, this was considered the best by everyone in our group.

My husband and I agree this was one of our top activities/tour we did on our trip to NOLA. With so many things to do and tours to chose from these are the top 2 reasons to include the Creole Orleans Electric Bike Tour in your next trip. (1) You are going to walk a lot in this city, just eating and looking around. If you go to any museums or plantations, that is even more walking involved. Buzz NOLA has made their electric bikes to were you don't really have to pedal at all. They have a throttle, that you push to get you up and going. With different speeds so you can go fast or slow. Don't worry about it being complicated to use, it isn't. You set it and it stays there, but still easy to change your setting if you want. We did the tour on our 4th day and my feet were sore. I can attest to not pedaling the bike for most of this tour. You don't need to pedal to recharge the battery or to kick in the electric motor. And they can go fast if you desire. There are areas where your guide will let you play around with the speed if you want too. My husband and I easily reached 20mph just by pushing the throttle. These bikes let you experience the pleasure of riding without the work. (2) Every travel article will tell you that New Orleans is so much more than just the French Quarter and this is true. Now you don't want to worry about parking a car and traffic to see everything the city has to offer. The Creole tour covers so many areas that would be very time consuming by bus, car or walking. In 3 hours you will see the French Quarter, By Water, City Park, Cemetery, Jackson Square and so many other areas. The tour covers a little bit of everything. Our guide included a lot of unknown facts about the area, architecture and gave good recommendations on things to futher visit. My top tips for planning your bike tour are: Book your tour early in the day. This keeps the temperature cooler but some of the areas you cover are crowded with walking tourist later in the day. We did the 10am tour on Saturday and found it to be a great time. The streets and paths were easy to maneuver. A week day would even be easier. Don't wait till the end of your stay to book this tour. We wanted to explore more areas and visit a few places the guide suggested but didn't have enough time left on our vacation. Make sure to bring sunscreen, water and your camera. The bikes have a large basket with a net cover to keep your stuff in. A small bag or backpack fits perfectly. There are several photo opportunities and the guide will offer to take your photo in front of Jackson Square. If you can't find a day that they offer the tour that works with your schedule, I would highly suggest renting the electric bikes. You will still be able to cover more ground to explore the city and enjoy the pleasure of riding a bike with little work. Don't forget to see City Park. We can't express how much we enjoyed this tour and the electric bikes. Thank you Buzz NOLA for offering an unique and enjoyable tour.
