Even though it was winter we saw 4 and then in the springs were lucky enough to see 4 more. One was a mother nursing her baby. Crew was friendly and laid back. Bought the pictures at the end. Great memories.

We had a fantastic time in the water with the manatee which we were amazed to see almost immediately after getting on the boat. We spent an hour in the water and saw around 10 manatee including 5 at one time. Whilst lagging behind the group my daughter had her own special and unforgettable encounter when a young manatee snuck up on her and gave her a cuddle. The young manatee was really inquisitive and also had a cuddle with my other daughter before playing with her hair. The larger females were really impressive too and not at all fazed by us. Well worth the 4:10am alarm and drive over from Orlando in a rainstorm.

Swimming with manatees was such a privelage. It was an amazing experience we both enjoyed. Even though it was summer season (August) we still saw a fair number and our guide Lindsay was great at putting everybody at ease and making sure we all had a great time. She took great photos too! River ventures were good value for money, great customer service, and clearly cared about the manatees.
