Having been on many walking food tours in other major US cities, I was excited about sharing a food tour in my home city of Dallas with friends. I came away very disappointed. RESTAURANTS: The restaurants were well selected offering a good variety and all within close proximity to one another. The food samples were delicious and ample enough to make a complete meal by day's end. The wait staff was well prepared for our arrival, welcoming, and very attentive. High marks here. GUIDED TOUR: Our guide was less than knowledgeable regarding the history of the Historic West End of Dallas (location of tour). She offered very limited historical information and what she recited was poorly rehearsed and at times required repeated deliveries of her scripted dialogue. The guide spent most of the time engaged in a personal conversation with one of the participants at the exclusion of the rest of us. Very poor marks here. SUMMARY: Being familiar with Dallas, I could have guided my friends to these same restaurants, offered some historical factoids about the city, and saved a lot of money in the end. Would not recommend unless you're guaranteed a professional and experienced guide as represented by the tour agency.

We are glad this guest enjoyed the food on the tour and the proximity of the restaurants. The guide for the tour is new and perhaps didn't deliver the appropriate information. For this we are sorry. We will send a trainer to evaluate the guide shortly.
