For over 20 years we have provided the most unique and eco-friendly dolphin and whale watching trips to view magnificent Blue Whales, Gray Whales, Humpback Whales, Fin Whales, Minke Whales, and occasionally Orcas (Killer Whales), Pilot Whales, False Killer Whales, and more. Five species of wild dolphins are also seen throughout the year, including mega-pods with up to 10,000 dolphins! Plus sea lions, marine birds, and even sharks. You'll depart from Dana Point, home to one of the most diverse marine eco-systems in the world. We had a wonderful experience! The crew was kind and knowledgeable. We were fortunate enough to see an amazing display of a whale breaching the waves (i.e. jumping out of the water) and the crew extended the tour so we could enjoy the site in its entirety. They were as excited as us! Overall, I would definitely do it again. It was a great experience for people of all ages (including littles ones - mine were 4 and 6).

A wonderful dolphin/whale experience! We have used Capt. Dave's on several trips to California and are never disappointed!! Great staff, fun boats (with viewing in the pontoons). They always have a naturalists on board to talk about the marine life. We saw 7 whales and hundreds of dolphins on our last trip. Highly recommend.

OMG. Seriously. First of all, we had spectacular sunny weather in November and calm seas...and then the sightings were out of this world. Humpback and fin whales (my first time for them) and thousands of bottlenose and common dolphins. I've done many dozens of whale watching trips in Monterey Bay, and this was my first time since moving to San Diego. It was just incredible. The boat crew (Captain Chuck, Matt, and Michale) and the staff were wonderful. They had great humor and were clearly concerned about conservation and the well-being of the animals, and just overall made it a great experience. I love the boat...there's lots of room to spread out and the catamaran makes for a smoother experience. This is my new favorite thing to do in Souther California.
