For over 20 years we have provided the most unique and eco-friendly dolphin and whale watching trips to view magnificent Blue Whales, Gray Whales, Humpback Whales, Fin Whales, Minke Whales, and occasionally Orcas (Killer Whales), Pilot Whales, False Killer Whales, and more. Five species of wild dolphins are also seen throughout the year, including mega-pods with up to 10,000 dolphins! Plus sea lions, marine birds, and even sharks. You'll depart from Dana Point, home to one of the most diverse marine eco-systems in the world. We love Captain Dave Whale watching. We have seen gray Whale up close on one trip and on another trip we saw a Blue Whale. Also, seen a Dolphin stampede. All a great time. Highlight this week we went on July 4th fireworks at Dana Point. It was the best I've seen. Truly spectacular! All their boats and staff are top notch.

Seeing a blue whale was the highlight of our day with Captain Dave’s Whale Watching tour, and the crew went above and beyond to make it an unforgettable experience. Captain Marie, Stacie, and Janelle made us feel like family. We were so fortunate to be able to share this experience with such a personable, enthusiastic, kind, and knowledgeable crew. We went on Captain Dave’s today with my 3 year old daughter and she was thrilled and so excited to see dolphins for the first time! We saw probably 300-400 dolphins, a sun fish, and a mommy and baby sea lion plus tons of birds. We took the morning trip that left at 8am. The water was pretty calm, but I was glad I had worn the sea sickness bracelets and took ginger capsules before we left. The crew was great. Very professional and friendly as well as educational. They narrated a lot of the trip for us explaining about the depth of the ocean and the sea floor, as well as the species of birds, fish and dolphins we were seeing. I highly recommend and will be going again. Thank you, Captain Chuck and crew! You guys were awesome. Great trip!
