Daufuskie Island Guided History Tour from Hilton Head

Overview
Tucked between Hilton Head Island and Savannah, and accessible only by boat, Daufuskie Island is a real gem. This 4-hour Daufuskie Island trip provides a glimpse into a fascinating chapter of Lowcountry history on the undeveloped side of the island. Meet local artisans and learn the rich history of the Native Americans, European settlers, the cotton trade, and the Gullah culture. We encourage you to wear weather appropriate clothing, and bring water, snacks, and sunscreen.

The trio was so much fun. J.O. was a great guide. Make sure you bring sunscreen, I was glad I did for the boat ride.

We had a great afternoon on this tour! Our guide, Captain Pete, was very knowledgeable and personable. The weather was perfect, and Daufuskie Island was an interesting and charming place with a history I didnā€™t know much about before this tour.

Learned a lot about the island. Nothing to do in Daufuski but ride around on dirt roads and learn about old plantation or slave living. Very old and virtually empty island now. Absolutely deserted island. A few large homes that no one lives in the rest are old trailers. Tour guide was good. Speed boat ride to island was the most enjoyable....jumping waves and all. Very small and less than 10 people total.
