Our guide was Doreen Kuenzler. She was AMAZING! She is an excellent boat captain and has a sincere appreciation for and knowledge of low country and the nature and culture contained within it. She is sensitive to the needs of her group and their interests. I Highly Recommend Her! She has a great personality and sense of humor. This was my first trip with her and will not be my last. I look forward to my next adventure with her.

Captain Andy delivered an engaging and informative 4.5 boat/golf cart tour that exceeded our expectations in every way. His knowledge about the history, geography and people was limitless. We departed from shelter cove on a boat and took about a 90 minute ride to and partially around the island. Once at the island, we had a few minutes at the general store before starting our two hour golf cart tour of the island. During the tour, we became acquainted with the rich history of the island and the people that made it. We stopped by schools, churches, and cemetery. Along the way we saw quite a bit of wildlife and met one of the friendliest horse I have ever seen. At one stop, we grabbed some fresh brewed coffee and home made pastries. Once back at the landing, we hopped on the boat for an hour cruise back. Andy kept the conversation alive and shared many more facts about Hilton Head and itā€™s history. You can do the island DYI, but I think you would miss so much. I highly recommend taking the tour.

We really enjoyed our beautiful day! Weather was perfect. Capt Andy was full of knowledge and had relationships with some of the locals on the island which added to the authenticity. A couple of tips... bug spray and sunscreen would be helpful, if you have limited mobility you will be okay but may need a little help getting in and out of the boat, if you don't enjoy history you may find it a little boring. We enjoyed it!
