Charleston City Market

You have 2 hours of free time after the guided city bus tour browse the City Market or to explore Charleston on your own. The City Market has many vendors that sell local arts and crafts.

Boone Hall Plantation

This is the Most Photographed Plantation in America. You get a guided house tour, a tour of the original slave cabins and much more.

It was an interesting trip. The driver was very pleasant and gave some good stories of the city history. This trip had people for both tour #5 and 9. So he was constantly dropping off and coming back for pickup. That being said he did a good job. Pickup is very early in the morning and they do not provide water or a stop on the way for those of us that didn’t get a chance to get coffee. We were not given a schedule of the presentations and events at Boone Plantation so some of the things we might have wanted to do or see were missed. For example we arrived just as the Gullah show was starting (a definite highlight of trip) and handed a brown paper bag lunch and water/soda and driver took to pickup the #9 people to bring them back. The last show was scheduled the same time as the House tour. The house door was okay but there were much more interesting times to do and learn . All in all it was a good day.

This tour was very informative, the ride there and back was long but not bad because it gave you time to rest from getting up so early to meet the bus. The "Gullah Gethie" woman who told the story of the slaves and where and how they lived in a very inviting and exciting way was extraordinary. In all this would be a great tour to experience. Getting to see the lovely and historic city of Charleston, S C was fantastic!
