National Mall
Washington DC has a vast collection of outdoor monuments in addition to its stellar museums. This tour is the best way to see DC’s iconic sites, including the White House. We’ll explore the history of the nation’s capital as well as the monuments and memorials of the National Mall that feature figures like George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. Your engaging guide will share the stories about the major players and events in American history that have earned memorials on the Mall, including the Korean War, World War II, and Vietnam. They’ll even divulge the intricate symbolism woven into these structures. You’ll be treated to many photo opportunities along the way, so keep your camera handy.

White House
During this tour you will be able to see the infamous White House, the official residence and workplace of the president of the United States. It has been the residence of every U.S president since John Adams in 1800.

Lincoln Memorial
You will also see the grand Lincoln Memorial, a monument which was constructed to honor President Abraham Lincoln, the 16th United States president. The monument towers over the Reflecting Pool, in the western end of the National Mall.

Vietnam Veterans Memorial
You will pass by the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, a 2-acre national memorial which pays tribute to the members of the U.S Armed Forces who fought in the Vietnam War and were killed or missing in action. The memorial is made up of three separate parts: the Three Soldiers statue, the Vietnam Women’s Memorial and the Vietnam Veterans Memorial War, considered the most popular feature.

Korean War Veterans Memorial
Another memorial you will come across is the Korean War Veterans Memorial. Dedicated on July 27, 1995, the memorial honors the 5.8 million Americans who served in the U.S armed services during the three-year period of the Korean War.

National World War II Memorial
You will also see the National World War II Memorial, a memorial of national significance which commemorates the Americans who served in the U.S armed forces during WW2 and all who supported the war effort from home, The Second World War is the only 20th Century event commemorated on the National Mall’s central axis.

Washington Monument
During your tour you will also see what is known as the Washington Monument, an obelisk built to commemorate George Washington, the first President of the United States.

Maribeth was very knowledgeable, personable and fun. A great walking experience. We started at Lafeyette Park and finished at the Korean War Memorial. There was plenty of time to take photos and explore. We were able to ask numerous questions along the way.
