So I call dc scooter and they took care of us. They’re SMART Scooters that look like mini segways, were unbelievably easy! It was practical for my wife and I with the heat and she has a bad hip. When I called dc scooter and spoke to Greg, He assured me that this would be the perfect solution for her who is 55 and for me the same age.”

They allowed me to place a reservation for three scooters for $300. They then never showed. I called, emailed and texted and they eventually blocked me. They are a scam.

Struggled to even give it a rating at all! We tried to call and texted several times to rent scooters, but needed to be sure they could store our luggage there during our rental. No one ever got back to us… wanted everything done online. So we took the Uber out there. It is a tiny place. When we entered we were rudely greeted by one person and asked to wait outside as she “needed a moment”. The whole place smelled like marijuana and certainly didn’t appear to be any space to store luggage. She came outside and we made our inquiry, just to be told they actually don’t have any scooters and none would be back until night time (um… it’s noon- so six hours? None?). Anyway, very disappointed! There we are… took a 20 minute Uber from our hotel to this little hole in the wall not near any place we can go or leave luggage. We walked to an embassy suites that was kind enough to hold our luggage for us and we made other plans. Extremely poor customer service by dc scooters.

I would never use DC Scooter again. I rented 6 scooters for four hours on July 7. The driver dropped off the scooters 30 minutes late because according to her "the previous party gave me the wrong address so I've been stuck in traffic." The driver then offered to give me an extra hour free or to take an hour off of our rental charge. We couldn't use the extra free hour because we had an appointment at the Spy Museum so I said I'd take the discount. DC Scooter never followed up and never provided a credit. I disputed 25% of the charge with Visa and DC Scooter would still not provide the credit so I was stuck paying for 4 hours of a 6-scooter rental even though they were late dropping off the scooters and did not follow-up with the refund offer they told me I would get. Just a terrible way to operate a business. And I'll admit, the scooters were fun but we lost out on valuable time seeing DC on our only day in the city.
