Death's Door Bluff Kayak Tour

Overview
The Death’s Door Bluff Kayak Tour is the perfect combination of serenity and adventure. On this tour, we see several of Door County’s secret spots including the Schooner Fleetwing Shipwreck, Native American Pictographs, rock cairns of Door Bluff County Park, the highest natural spot in Door County, and a view of Washington Island.

Because we meet at the launch site, no time is spent driving to and from the tour location, making this tour a great option for someone who wants to spend as much time on the water as possible. As this tour is located farther North on the Peninsula, it is beyond the travels of most tourists in Door County.

Due to the weather and waves several of the other kayak tour companies had to rearrange their tours as did ours. (We originally picked the cave point tour). With that being said the put in point was very crowded and hectic. Once we launched...let the awesomeness begin. We stayed in near the shoreline and the rock cliffs. We had a nice paddle to a tie up point, where we hiked to high point on the bluff over looking the water. Our guides, Kaitlyn and Collin brought a small picnic snack of cheese, summer sausage, crackers, dried cherries, and water. Kaitlyn and Collin were AWESOME. It was quite nice. We hiked back to the kayaks and headed back, this time further out in the open water. Again, it was a nice paddle and very enjoyable. We were gone about 4hrs.

So we had originally booked the cave point tour, but due to weather conditions the company offered us this as an alternative (along with the option to do the wetland tour or do the cave point tour on a different day). Since we couldn't stay longer in the County, we opted for this one. A little further north, the tour offered great sites of the north shore. Our guide was also hilarious and incredibly helpful making sure we were safe and getting our full time's worth. Highly recommend to all!!

The tour was easy to book, they were proactive in communicating weather and possible changes. AJ, our tour guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and careful about safety. The weather was working against use for looking at the shipwreck but we did eventually get a look. Fun to see the bluffs, birds nests, Indian pictographs, and view from out in bay. The kayaks are doubles if you sign up as a couple. Was a very enjoyable morning.
