Overview

This tour takes you within 6 miles of Denali's north summit (19,470 ft.) and south summit (20,320 ft.). You will enter an ancient world of rugged high mountain peaks, towering snow-capped mountains and glacier-filled valleys and explore the south and east faces of Denali. The regular flightseeing tour is 1 hour, or choose the glacier landing option for a 1.5 hour tour including a landing atop a glacier. This is truly a once in a lifetime experience you will not forget.

What To Expect

K2 Aviation

You will check in at the K2 Office at the Talkeetna Airport Office, from there you will depart on your flightseeing tour of Denali

Mount McKinley

This route is the foundation for all of our flightseeing tours. Fly up to 6 miles (10 km) from Denali’s summit, then descend into the awe-inspiring Ruth Amphitheater and Great Gorge. View the Tokositna and Ruth Glaciers, the sharp ridges of Mount Huntington, hanging glaciers clinging to Mount Hunter, and the famous Moose’s Tooth.

We had an amazing Denali experience with Matt as our wonderful pilot! Staff at the facility were very helpful and friendly making sure we knew what to do prior to boarding aircraft. Once we were assembled, Matt discussed safety measures and worked to make sure all 5 guests were comfortable. It’s a small plane and took a couple of folks a bit of maneuvering to get in and out of the plane. We flew for a little over an hour and were dazzled by the views and Matt’s excellent communication and skills. We opted not to take the glacier landing tour and didn’t regret our decision as Matt went out of his way to point out interesting facts. Highly recommend!

It was a once in a life time awesome surreal experience. Flying through the fog and clouds over glaciers! Only regret is that due to inclement weather we could not experience the glacier landing. We did the tour on 19 August 2024 at 6 pm. Our pilot ( forgot the name) was very knowledgeable and answered all the questions we asked. She described the locati9ns she was flying over in detail. This is a must to do activity in Denali National Park.
