Denver Graffiti Tour

Overview
Denver Graffiti Tour is a 2-hour walking showcase of Denver's best murals and street art (and some of the best in the country). Learn the story behind the art and how the rapidly changing RiNo neighborhood has affected the art and its long-time residents. Whether visiting Denver for the first time or a Mile High native, you'll see the street art and this neighborhood in a new light.

We end at the Denver Central Market, a gourmet food hall where you can eat or drink at one of the 10 eateries.

(Oh, and we offer custom times and private tours. Inquire by email or phone.)

Guided Tour
Additional Info
  • Wheelchair accessible
  • Infants and small children can ride in a pram or stroller
  • Service animals allowed
  • Suitable for all physical fitness levels
  • The majority of the walking tour is paved. There are one or two sections that may go over hard-packed dirt. And we also go down an alleyway for a few blocks that sometimes has debris and/or glass. We have had many strong people in wheel chairs on the tour with no problems, but those in wheel chairs without a lot of strength may find it difficult in certain sections.
What To Expect
1
RiNo Art District
Tour-goers will be guided on foot through the RiNo Art District to see some of the best murals and street art in the country. We'll stop at anywhere from 20-30 pieces, but you'll see nearly 100. (And we love questions about all of it.) We'll also stop to discuss the neighborhood's rapid change has brought new hip businesses but also contributed to the displacement of long-time residents ... and has had an effect on the art. We'll end at Denver Central Market (about a 1/2 mile from the start) where you can grab food or drink from any of the gourmet food hall's 10 restaurants.

My granddaughters and I went Saturday, March 23 on the Graffiti Walking Tour - great guide that had great background artist stories and was fun. The art was fabulous, varied, interesting and changes yearly.

We had only a short weekend to spend in Denver, and we chose to start our first day with this tour of the street art of the RiNo (River North) neighborhood. So glad we did! This former industrial neighborhood is now home to a large collection of creative ventures, with stunning street art on what seemed like every wall and all manner of urban fixtures such as electric meters-even on the lowly trash cans! The quantity and quality of art are simply mind-boggling! The tour is pretty fast-paced because there is so much to see. You'll learn the history of each work on the tour, including a profile of the artist(s) and the meaning of the subject matter (to the extent it is known). Street art is often a reflection of community struggles in response to gentrification, and that was the theme of many of the pieces we viewed on this tour. So, this tour is not just a feast for the eyes--it will get you thinking. The guides/owners, Erin and James, are articulate, expert, and welcoming. Their passion for their subject is palpable and contagious. We will take this tour again on our next visit to Denver--once was simply not enough!

If you love art, if you love Colorado, if you have eyes... you will love this tour! We had such a wonderful time touring and learning about all the graffiti in the Rhino district. The tour is full of inspirational art and informative commentary. Our guide was so nice, knowledgeable and you can really tell he has the in-site and pulse of the local art and artists. I was really impressed and loved every moment. Thank you so much for a great afternoon discovering the hidden gems of graffiti in Denver.

Stop, you're embarrassing us. No, never mind, continue. We love hearing it. Seriously, we love hearing that people take from the tour what we hope they do. An appreciation for the art and a more nuanced view of the city's growth. Thanks for coming out and exploring with us.
