First , let me start off by saying that this is just an informational review,I have no prejudice against any Asian culture.
The driver of the van met us exactly where and at the allotted time that he was supposed to meet us. Turned out that he was a primarily Japanese speaking person and that was great for the other 10 people on the tour...since they were also Japanese, lol! Our driver was polite and did reiterate to us in English, information that we needed to know but I had no idea what else was being said. However, that didn't matter very much because his part in the tour was really just getting us to Diamonhead so we didn't consider that a big deal though it was a bit odd, lol! We did get to the observation point to catch the sunrise amidst an even larger group of Asian peoples and we were handed off to an English speaking gentleman who I'm not entirely sure what his role was but he did keep us engaged with quite a bit of information about the park. As soon as the park opened we reloaded the vans and entered through the tunnel so we were some of the first people onto the park that day. This gave us a head start up the crater path which does get more arduous the farther up you go. We did make it to the top (my 33 y.o. son made it up no issue, my 55 y.o. wife had was winded and did get a bit week legged and myself 53y.o. was a little winded but didn't have any issues) Keep on mind that as you start the climb the air is cool and the sun not to harsh but as you climb that will change so prepare to sweat and bring water.
Overall this was a good tour simple due to the ride there and the early entry into the park. Oh, and we did get the pastries which were delicious.
