While a little expensive, the Old Town Trolley is really the best way to see and learn about old town St. Augustine since parking and traffic can be a real hassle, and there is so much to see/learn about. This is a good way to start your visit as the guides (which can be rather cheesy) point out the major points of interest and other pertinent details. Then you can either get on/off the trolley at various points to visit the sites, or you can go back to sites later on your own. This tour allows you to get a good overview of the city without having to walk miles in the heat and then you can plan which sites you want to see and/or learn more about. The only negative for us was that one of the days we used the trolley there were so many people that the trolleys were full so many people ended up having to wait a long time at the trolley stops without finding a seat. The second day we rode the trolley they seemed to have worked this out however, it may be an issue depending on the crowds when you visit.

Super helpful way to get acquainted with St. Augustine, learn history and trivia abut the area, and duck in and out of various places without the hassle of traffic and parking. We used the Old Town Trolley for a day and a half and it was a pleasure. The first day, we rode the full route and listened to the extensive history of each stop. Then, we used the jump on and off feature to see various points of interest for the rest of our trip. You never have to wait long to jump back on, as there are continuous trolleys all over the city all day. Super nice to sit back and enjoy the scenery and history while someone else does the driving. We also got a package with discounted tickets to several of the more popular attractions including the Fountain of Youth and the Old Jail. Drivers were friendly, safe, knowledgeable, and funny! Best of all, they will send a shuttle to pick you up at your hotel and return you there! So easy and convenient.
