Distillery Tour

Overview

Join us for a one-hour guided tour of J. Rieger & Co., Kansas City’s iconic distillery, located in the historic Electric Park neighborhood of the East Bottoms district. Discover the history of our brand, from its founding during the wild and raucous years when the city boasted “the wettest block in the world”, to its premature demise at the dawn of Prohibition, and eventual revival in 2014, nearly a century later.

Enjoy extensive access to each phase of the distillation process, from grain to bottle. The tour will conclude with a tasting of our four core products led by one of our knowledgeable guides.

The tour is fantastic! Our guide was knowledgeable, fun, and very interesting. Starts with a little movie of KC history, Rieger & Heim Breweries, and the booming surrounding area in the early 1900's. Then, we walked through the distillery which was beautiful! The tastings were fab and the drinks at the Monogram Lounge after were superb. This is such a great building, very industrial, modern and a LOT of space to leisurely hang out. We'll go back soon, and this time eat there too. I highly recommend going and also taking the tour! Be sure to take the one story slide down on your way out!

We have been on several distillery tours throughout the country and this was definitely the nicest. Informative and entertaining tour guide. Fascinating history and artifacts on display. ABSOLUTELY beautiful venue.

We had so much fun on this tour. The most surprising and enjoyable part was how knowledgeable our tour guide, Shannon, was of Kansas City history and folklore. Being able to relive over a decade of events that shaped the city was remarkable in understanding the current operation of the distillery today. Don't forget to go down the slide when exiting....I did it twice!
