Distillery Tour

Overview
Join us for a one-hour guided tour of J. Rieger & Co., Kansas City’s iconic distillery, located in the historic Electric Park neighborhood of the East Bottoms district. Discover the history of our brand, from its founding during the wild and raucous years when the city boasted “the wettest block in the world”, to its premature demise at the dawn of Prohibition, and eventual revival in 2014, nearly a century later.

Enjoy extensive access to each phase of the distillation process, from grain to bottle. The tour will conclude with a tasting of our four core products led by one of our knowledgeable guides.

Great tour. Tour guide very knowledgable about their processes and competitiive process. Great insight into brand differentiation. Good explanation to what makes a "Kansas City" bourbon. Guide gave great explanation about all brewing/distilling hardware. Taste test was a great finnale

What a neat place! We weren't expecting it to be so upscale in design. Wonderful building, very friendly staff who made us feel really welcome. The tour was fascinating. It does get quite warm on the production floor, dress accordingly. The history was neat to learn about. The day we were there, they were making vodka for the KC Chiefs. Our tour guide was knowledgeable, funny, friendly and we could hear her well even over the loud production floor sounds. So interesting! We arrived an hour early by mistake, but they have such interesting museum level history available in the lobby, and very comfortable seating as well as a full bar. After the tour we had the included tasting of their Vodka, whiskey, gin and coffee liquor. There is a restaurant upstairs, as well as additional views into the production floor. It's an hour tour, budget 90 min or so if you want to have a relaxing visit. Highly recommend.

Wasn’t sure what to expect, but seeing the ratings, thought we should give it a try. Excellent and informative with a tasting at the end. Had we had more time, we would have stayed for a meal and some down time. Great tour!
