The Lake View Tour is a wonderful way to get your feet wet while experiencing a helicopter flight in the Smokies. Douglas Lake covers more than 28,000 acres across three counties and has over 500 miles of shoreline. This flight will carry you over the French Broad River toward Douglas Dam and up to the edge of Mountain Cove Marina. On clear days there are beautiful panoramic views of the Great Smoky Mountains in the distance.

What To Expect

Scenic Helicopter Tours

Our Lake View flight will extend you past the French Broad River and take you out to Douglas Lake. Douglas Lake is a 33,000 acre man-made lake with over 450 miles of shoreline. This flight will get you up to 1500 feet in altitude, allowing you to get a superb view of the Great Smoky Mountains towards the South. Along the route you will see areas of farmland and quilt-like patterns of pastures. As you get closer to Douglas Lake you will fly next to Douglas Dam. On most days you are able to see the Plateau off to the Northwest that divides Tennessee and Kentucky. Includes River Ride points of interest you may see along the way: English Mountain, Boat / Jet Ski Rental Areas, Fishing / Camping and Kyker Korn Maze which is (seasonal).

This was an excellent experience. We did the second shortest trip just to check off helicopter flight from our bucket list. The staff is great, our pilot was outstanding and catered his explanations perfectly to my inquisitive daughter who got to sit in the front and even steer us in for a bit!!! The merchandise is also very nice and we picked up a couple items. For us, the 12 minute ride was enough for this trip, but I would not hesitate to take a much longer trip. Incredibly smooth ride.

Right from finding the right tour, booking tickets to the actual experience, the whole process was smooth. Jay, our Boarding attendant and Jordan, our Pilot ensured a thoroughly enjoyable experience! Would definitely recommend.

I had a couple 4 year olds with me who were very excited. They got us on quickly and took quick photos of us so kids didn’t get impatient. Will definitely be back for a 3rd flight.
