The Lake View Tour is a wonderful way to get your feet wet while experiencing a helicopter flight in the Smokies. Douglas Lake covers more than 28,000 acres across three counties and has over 500 miles of shoreline. This flight will carry you over the French Broad River toward Douglas Dam and up to the edge of Mountain Cove Marina. On clear days there are beautiful panoramic views of the Great Smoky Mountains in the distance.

What To Expect

Scenic Helicopter Tours

Our Lake View flight will extend you past the French Broad River and take you out to Douglas Lake. Douglas Lake is a 33,000 acre man-made lake with over 450 miles of shoreline. This flight will get you up to 1500 feet in altitude, allowing you to get a superb view of the Great Smoky Mountains towards the South. Along the route you will see areas of farmland and quilt-like patterns of pastures. As you get closer to Douglas Lake you will fly next to Douglas Dam. On most days you are able to see the Plateau off to the Northwest that divides Tennessee and Kentucky. Includes River Ride points of interest you may see along the way: English Mountain, Boat / Jet Ski Rental Areas, Fishing / Camping and Kyker Korn Maze which is (seasonal).

Upon arrival, we were super excited to get checked it. Check in was super easy and the girls were so lovely. We walked outside to the food truck that also sold adult beverages… which we needed for nerves.. then out to play corn hole. We were called by last name to get situated and get our photos taken. The pilot, Matt, so AWESOME!!! He was very respectful, funny, and informative of the area. GO NAVY!!

Do not purchase the “sky river rush” bundle it will cost you about $20 more per person than if you bought them individually.(photos attached) Seems kinda scammish for a proprietor to not know simple math. When called to their attention they did say they would correct it but, they didn’t. The flight is fun. The jet boat portion is under a bridge climbing down slick rubber pads and across moss and mud covered rock NOT safe.The boat ride was nothing exciting just a ride up and down the river limited to 35mph.
