Asheville has a lovely town center and we enjoyed seeing it. The guide was nice. Most of the information we learned could be found by following various sidewalk trails/signs that are offered throughout the area. We might have preferred the hop on hop off bus tour more.

I am glad to hear that you enjoyed your guide! While we do follow along sections of the urban trail, they provide very small bits of information compared to the knowledge your guides have of the history of the city and the best places to go along your visit.

Our tour was scheduled 10:00 am to noon. Our Tour guide referred to a private tour she had scheduled at 12.30 and that are tour needed to end by noon. She repeated that a few times during the tour. She walked ahead of the group when we walked to different sites. She really didn’t try to engage with the tour group members. At a few stops she was on her cell phone and of course did not engage with us. Our last stop was at Cultivated, a brewery that specialized in cocktails. She rushed us thru with little dialogue with the presenter. She said we could come back on our own. I really enjoyed the walking tour of Asheville but we have had better tour guides. We paid $10.50 each for the two hour tour. After the tour we always tip our tour guide. We were appalled when our tour guide stated her tip is usual $30 to $50 a person. She stated this is how she makes a living. By the look on the faces of the group members they were horrified also. We tipped a fair amount but not $30 to $50 a person.

We do our best to make sure every guest has a wonderful experience and I am disappointed to hear that was not the case for you! Please let me know if there is anything we can do for you in the meantime

Mike was very informative and interesting. Great way to start our visit to Asheville. Walked all around downtown and sampled drinks at Cultivated Cocktails. Coffee liquor was great!
