Tour was wonderful, very enjoyable! Wish we would have done it earlier in our stay since our guide also offered suggestions of local places to visit. Highly recommend!

Fast-growing Austin’s history is receding quickly, the desire to preserve balanced against the equally strong drive to reinvent. Emily (our guide on the Cornerstones tour) is passionate without being strident, informative but not lecturing, warm, personable, and tireless. We saw residential, governmental, and commercial buildings and Emily explained their styles and significance while sharing a nice perambulation around the center of Texas’s capital city.

Our guide was very knowledgeable and pleasant, telling us about the history and architecture of central Austin. One part we especially enjoyed was the Bremen block, with gorgeous homes built after the Civil War. (I’m not sure if I spelled the man’s name correctly.)
