Overview

Our Original Ghost Walk takes travelers through the historic downtown Mystic landscape, guests will become immersed in the dark, sordid and supernatural history of New England’s famous seafaring village. From 17th century strife of colonial life amidst the Pequot Wars and the King Phillip’s war to mysterious turn of the century murders, Mystic’s history was founded in darkness. As the centuries grew, lost seafarers, creepy cryptids, and scandalous happenings took place in our quaint seaside community.

Hear tales of Revolutionary heroes, industrial revolution hot spots, and Union soldiers of the Civil War still seen in their spectral form all on our Downtown Mystic tour. Our Downtown Mystic tour takes guests from the 17th through 20th centuries in old Mystic with true terrifying tales from our hidden archives and remarkable history amid legends and lore. From curses to paranormal activity, there’s no shortage of the supernatural in downtown Mystic.

Based on the multiple positive reviews, we expected to be thoroughly entertained. We’ve participated in and thoroughly enjoyed a few ghost tours over the years and The Downtown Mystic Ghost Tour was a big disappointment. Our tour guide was obviously following a script but frequently “lost track”, was repetitive, and was not very interesting. Most of the stories also lacked content. There is so much to do in Mystic, but we cannot recommend participating in this tour.

Hi Carol! Thank you for your review about our tour. We are incredibly saddened to have disappointed and as you noted in other reviews, that is not at all what we aim to do. Due to guest demand, our October tours have always been an adaptation of full tour focusing more on the ghost stories. Throughout the year when it isn't spooky season, we are able to go into greater historical depth our guests. That said, each of our guides works hard to bring their own unique voice to the tour content and each performer is different! We would love to offer you an opportunity to return and try this tour again or try an alternate tour with us. Very informative your. The tour guide was very knowledgeable about all ghostly thing’s surrounding Mystic. Kudos to Karen. It may be boring to some, but if you’re into all things paranormal it’s fascinating. Thanks again!

The story at Captain Packer Inn. We had eaten there before the tour in the Pub. We lucked out and got seats at the bar. It was amazing! The restaurant was highly recommended by a friend. We have to go back and eat upstairs with the captain and Ada. Courtney (our tour guide) was so passionate and knowledgeable about Mystic’s history. She has definitely done her research. I would highly recommend this tour. And fireworks were a plus in October!
