A fantastic tour for those who like food, history, and meeting new people. Brittany Eggerts, our tour guide, did a great job explaining not only the food but also answering local history questions a pointing out points of interest. We had a wonderful afternoon enjoying shops that we would not have found ourselves. The macaroons were a great starter. Their is a little something for everyone's taste along the way.

Would recommend - their is a little walking involved wear good walking shoes along the way but you have plenty of stops along the way and can always catch the trolley back to your vehicle.

Kendall led our group of 11 all around downtown santa barbara having us taste from seven different venues. We were stuffed by the end. But let us start from the beginning, we met at Renaud's Patisserie, where we were given a bit of history of the cafe as well as two delicious macaroons. From there we walked over to the Santa BArbara Public Market. There are several different food venues inside and we were treated to the most delicious two dishes from the Empty Bowl. This is one of those off the beaten track type place that a tourist might miss. But don't miss this one. We went on to wine tasting at the Grassini Family Vineyards, that paired our wine with chocolate. Then on to Persona Pizza for two different pizza tastings, along with pitchers of beer/water. Feeling kind of full at this point but onward to C'est Cheese for several cheese tastings, along with explanations from an employee about the history behind the shop. Another wine tasting was at the cebada winery. And last but not least we ended our tour at McConnells Ice Cream shop were we were treated to 3 different flavors in a nice seated area where we could pose for a photo and chat with each other. This was such a wonderful experience.do try it. Kendall was a treasure!!!

This was our very first food tour so we were not sure what to expect. We were hopeful based on the positive reviews.

Our guide Brittany was at the meeting place when we arrived a few minutes early. She advised us that we were the only ones to book the tour that day and she had no problem with that. She asked about any food allergies and food non-preferences and provided us each with a bottle of water. She told us it would take about 3-1/2 hours for the tour and that there would be water and restrooms available at each stop. She saw that we wore sneakers and dressed comfortably, which important since there would be a fair amount of walking.

We started at the top of Main St and worked down to near the bottom with some crisscrossing along the way. Brittany pointed out sights of interest along the way. She called ahead to each stop so there was hardly any wait time for our tasting. On the way between stops, she would explain what to expect and gave us background on the restaurant/wine bar. We enjoyed the mix of food/snacks/beverages.

Other reviewers mentioned that there was too much or too little to eat. In my opinion there was plenty to eat and at some stops, I got to eat what my wife couldn't finish. As a result, we were both satisfied with the amount of food and ended up having a light dinner that night.

I was very pleased that Brittany did not rush us at any of the stops. She said the tour would take about 3-1/2 hr and that is what it took.
It was a good mix of food and drink. We probably walked 10,000 steps, which was not a problem for us. At the end of the tour, she asked what was our favorite stop. This was really tough to answer. We enjoyed the macaroons, the noodle bowl, the pizza, the wine and the ice cream so it was hard to pick just one. She then took a some more time to answer questions we had about the area and other things to see and do while in the area.

This was such a good experience, we look forward to trying food tours in other cities after checking the reviews, of course.
