DTLA Murder Mystery Ghost Tour

Overview
On our DTLA Murder Mystery Ghost tour we go on an investigation of the noir underbelly of Los Angeles – and enjoy cocktails in two haunted bars.

First we visit the Biltmore Hotel, the last place the Black Dahlia was seen alive. Next we stop at Clifton’s and learn about the anti-corruption drive of its Christian founder (who had a few secrets of his own). After that it's the Hotel Cecil, which has a hellish history of murders, suicides and killers (including the Night Stalker). From there we move to the once grand Alexandria Hotel, where Rudolph Valentino’s ghost still haunts his old penthouse, then the Barclay Hotel, home to two serial killers and the scene of some brutal murders. We visit the site of the Chinatown Massacre of 1871, before the tour finishes at the Halls of Justice, site of many trials including those of Benjamin “Bugsy” Siegel and Charles Manson.

We ahd a very knowledgeable guide? Chris, who took us to several hotels DTLA, within a 1 mile walking radius. It was a great way to spend my birthday. My family and I learned so much more about L.A. from this mystery tour. You really get your monies worth. I will do this tour with my out of state visitors moving forward.

Chris was an amazing guide! Knowledge level far exceeded my expectations. Wish we were able to actually go inside establishments or at the very least the lobby.

Thanks for coming on the tour and we're so glad that you liked Chris so much. He's a true crime expert for sure! In terms of going into establishments it's important to understand that while we do generally enter a couple of locations (in addition to the bars which we always visit), it's not guaranteed, as we don't own them. Most tour companies don't enter ANY places (for example, stars houses tours don't go inside the stars houses) and we're unusual in that we DO go into several buildings. Guests should also be realistic about the fact that owners of properties featured on the tour almost certainly aren't going to want a large group of people wandering through, listening to stories of horrible things that have happened on the premises. It's understandable really.

Learning about about the history behind some of the murders. We were also able to check out the inside of Cliftons which was a nice treat. And Damion was great and very knowledgeable.
