What a great time- made even more fun and enjoyable by our guide Marcus. My twin teenagers and I give him 5 stars- he was knowledgeable and hilariously funny but put safety first, was very well informed about the river and overall area, and and kept us moving even though the river was lower than average and lots of other rafts got stuck on rocks. Not sure if customers can "choose" which guide they get, but we couldn't recommend Marcus highly enough. Thanks!

There are three things that mean the most to a guide: 1. Named in a review, 2. Requested, 3. A little something for going above and beyond! Trust me, the guides and office staff read these reviews, thank you, Cheers!

We had a ball doing the 4 hour float with this group. We had actually contacted another outfit in town and they were full and they recommended these folks. We got into town about noon and they were booked full that day, so we stayed a night in Durango and went right away the next morning. Only down side was the water was down and pretty brown from all the recent fires/mud slides. We got hung up more than a few times on rocks, but our guide was really good at telling us what to do to get going again. Can't remember our guides name, but she was from New York and is going to college in Durango. Very friendly gal and she helped make the trip a lot of fun. Class 2 and 3 rapids and the water was down enough it was mainly 2. Great ones to start on for us first timers. We had a 11, 13, 15 year old with and they handled fine. The other group actually had a 5 and 8 year old along and those kids were just fine too.

Mountain Waters office staff prides itself on telling our guests the real deal (low water, drought, muddy water from fires) which allows our guides to make the most of one heck of a challenging summer. With the right expectation and a crew of first timers or young children you can't help but have a great time on the Animas River. Thank you for the review, Cheers!

I took my family on the 4 hour rafting trip and we had a great time. The trip is family friendly and the staff was awesome. The guides were friendly, professional, and entertaining. Although the water was murky brown due to recent rain runoff, soot from recent fires and mudslides from upstream, it was still a great experience. (Don’t let the color of the water change your plans) I recommend this trip to anyone visiting Durango. Thanks again to all the guides, Lucas, Marty, Rosie, and Walker y’all made the trip memorable for us.

There must have been a connection when a guest can name all the guides on the trip. Another WOW review, thank you!
