Our tour guide I think it was Kyle was fabulous, he knew his stuff! Was a great tour to do, if you want a lot of information about how it was built ect.

We are a family of 4 with children aged 13 and 11 years old. We took this tour of the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island with our guide, Jerry, who was fantastic. You will leaving in the morning from Battery Park and take the ferry out to the Statue of Liberty as your first stop. You'll be able to go up on the pedestal and spend time in the museum before departing on the ferry for Ellis Island. Your guide will give you just the right amount of historical knowledge and will answer questions along the way while leaving you to do your own thing if you want to. The official tour ends on Ellis Island where your group will disperse allowing you to continue to explore the island or head back to Battery Park whenever you desire. Plan on 4 to 5 hours from when you first get to Battery Park in the morning to when you'll get off the ferry back in Manhattan in the afternoon. The ferry has light snacks and drinks available for purchase but we recommend a full breakfast before the tour so you aren't thinking about food while you are on it. The ferry can be quite crowded, but the tour guides are knowledgable about where to sit for the best views. You could just purchase a ferry ticket and go to these islands on your own, but we are really glad we decided to take this tour with Jerry as he told us many, many interesting facts that we never would have picked up without him.
Highly recommended!
