Our guide was informative and the sky was incredible! However, the atmosphere was terrible! It was held at the East Zion Ponderosa Ranch and the place was packed with loud, obnoxious people having a big party with a live band! It really destroyed the experience! The check in was also very difficult to find. I wouldn't recommend this location.

At registration we were briefed on the experience before making a short uphill walk to the viewing platform. Prior to embarking, Dylan mentioned that there were some clouds and that the moon was bright, insisted everyone check the sky and decide if theyā€™d like to continue that day, reschedule, or get a full refund. Nice blankets and hot chocolate or apple cider were available. Both Dylan and Rhiannon had a lot of great information. Even with the moonlight we were able to see the International Space Station, Jupiter, Saturn and its rings (through the telescope, of course), Venus, multiple constellations and satellites, and shooting stars. Dylan had a mythological origin story for every constellation we saw, and told us a great story about the North Star from Native lore. One thing that would be helpful to have on the website is some directional/navigation information as well as where to go once you get to Ponderosa Ranch. Overall great experience!
