Electric Bike Tour of the River Arts District of Asheville

Overview
Join our Flying Bike guides for an e-bike ride through the renowned River Arts District (RAD) of Asheville. You’ll meet local artists and get a front-row seat to watch them practice their craft. The tour lasts approximately 3 hours and will take you off the beaten path, guiding you down bike lanes and bike greenways along the banks of the gently flowing French Broad River.

Our first stop will be at The Marquee, an enormous art marketplace of curated vendors from around the region and beyond. Our second stop is at Small Batch Glass, where we will learn about all the steps involved in creating a handmade glass piece. Before returning to our shop, we will make one last stop at New Belgium Brewery where guests can purchase a thirst-quenching pint and a tasty meal from a food truck.

*Please note that food and drinks are not included in the cost of the tour but can be purchased separately.

Additional Info
  • Public transportation options are available nearby
  • Specialized infant seats are available
  • Suitable for all physical fitness levels
  • The electric bikes will take all of the hard work out of your ride. We routinely have riders that span the spectrum of age and fitness. The main requirement is that you be coordinated and fit enough to balance a 55-pound bike. A training and practice session is provided at the start of each tour. For people who would like to go on the tour but cannot balance a bike, it is possible to arrange a ride on the back of one of our stretch cargo bikes that will be driven by another person in your party.
  • Legally, you must be 16 years or older to operate an electric bike. Guides reserve the right to request proof of age of any rider. Riders should also be at least 5 feet tall to operate their own bike. Guests younger than 16 may ride as a passenger with an adult in their group on the back of one of our cargo bikes or in a child seat (for children ages 1-6 or up to 48.5 pounds).
  • Tours are subject to favorable weather conditions. If there is light rain in the forecast but none at the start of the tour, we will decide together at the time of the tour whether to ride. We will provide rain ponchos and rain covers for the bike storage bags to protect your belongings. If canceled due to poor weather, you will be given the option of an alternative date or a full refund.
  • Pets are not allowed on tours, please contact us with any questions or concerns.

My wife and I got married on a Wednesday and decided. To have a quick honeymoon in Ashville. We always try to take a home tour wherever we go and this was top tier. Our guide was kind and knowledgeable and cracked a lot of jokes. There were senior citizens in the group who weren’t very strong bike riders. He Was patient and guided them through the process so they could enjoy the tour with us. In addition to a guide with a great sense of humor and patience, we really had ample time to get photos, explore, and relax The ship is cool and they. Seem to have deep roots to the community. We can not wait to return and do one of the food tours.

This was such a fun tour! I highly recommend it. We were with a group of 12. Some wee experienced riders and some were novel. But everyone was equally challanged, we had fun. Our tour guide was grest in keeping up safe and shared some significant history about the area. He was very light hearted and mindfull. We stopped for about 45 min in the art district and then 30 min at the brewery. The cycling was through the park and on bike lanes with minimal traffic. This is a must when traveling through Ashville.
