Everglades Airboat Safari

Overview

Explore the Everglades on an airboat adventure. This tour includes transportation, park entrance, airboat ride, the airboat tour, and free time to walk the park and see all the alligator exhibits. Have the chance to see alligators up close in their natural habitat, as well as the many exhibits scattered throughout the park. This half day tour departs twice daily at 9:30 and 1:30.

Alligators…they are inexplicable! They are atrocious! They are exciting! And above all, they are must see when you are in the Everglades. If you wish to get up-close and personal with alligators then there’s no better way out than taking alligator tours.

The actual airboat tour was cool. Do not book through a company, book directly with the everglades park. Was supposed to get picked up at 2 at the meeting point in a bus, instead we were picked up at 2:45 in a can with no AC. The drive took over an hour and I was very unhappy.

We were placed on a bus that was running late and had faulty air condition...but the Airboat ride was good and we enjoyed Andrew who was able to spot us a few alligators and answer questions and even lightened the experience with a few jokes. The bus arrived late so we were rushed on the airboats and had very little time to view the exhibits before they were closed. The bus was having to be repaired so the departure time from the Everglades was pushing our time to depart Miami International so we ended up ordering an Uber ride for an extra $80...which got us back after the 5 hour minimum 5 hours for $40 at Lincoln Place parking garage...so we were charged for the day...another $80. There was little empathy from the driver throughout the trip...even when a passenger got sick in the upper part of the bus due to heat. We wished we would have just driven ourselves to the Sawgrass Park and avoided the double decker bus from Miami.
