We were picked up in a bright orange van exactly on time.....looked like no windows until we got Inside! John, our driver was great and happy to chat and answer questions. He was really attentive and ensured we were all OK. He even gave us all ponchos incase the weather turned!! Really thoughtful! On the airboat ride we were really (really!) lucky to have Captain Kotie (Swamp man .....sorry 2 weeks since we went and can’t remember exact nickname!!) who was a 4th generation Everglades man and really knew his stuff! We learnt so much, including that a really innocuous looking tree could burn you and cause real damage! Also lots about the Indians and how they lived. Best of all were the 8....yes 8 alligators! He had this baby call which just had them flocking! Fantastic! The show was unbelievable and you can’t help admiring the guys.....just remember if the alligators weren’t here and rescued they would be dead!! The team really look after them and care. Overall a fantastic afternoon and thanks to all.

We had a few hours to spend exploring the Fort Lauderdale area. We decided to take the airboat tour of the Everglades at Everglades Holiday Park. This was a great way to spend a few hours before our flight home. We had lunch in the restaurant-yummy Cuban sandwich hit the spot before the tour. Used our AAA card to get $1 off. Captain Rocky provided narration and found gators and iguanas for this city girl to see.
