Overview

Seeing the Sonoran Desert via your own two feet can be very intimate. How often do you get to stand right next to a Saguaro Cactus? Have you ever tried a taste of Cholla Cactus? Did you know there are so many edible plants in our Sonoran Desert?

Our guides can put together a hiking adventure to fit your vision. From a casual stroll to strenuous, rugged terrain—we have you covered. Plan on an hour-and-a-half of hiking. Have your dog along? We welcome them to join the hike as long as they are leashed.

Want to do a family hike? We can put together hikes that include education and get those little legs moving. Our guides will carry water, snacks, sunscreen and first aid essentials.

Took my wife, daughter and I on a relatively easy hike on Christmas day. We had a great time, learned a lot, saw beautiful desert flora, and spectacular views. I know they do much more challenging stuff too, but this is what we needed and they came through.

The owner Laurel Darren is awesome - best guide around. If you want to do camelback which is really really really hard (double black diamond). Call Wild Bunch and listen to Laurel. She brings backpacks with water and treats. Great guide that we have used several times and we will call her when we come back

Matt was our guide. He did an excellent job of judging our fitness and our level of interest in information about the area. He was very willing to answer questions. Best of all he gave us a great hike that we could not have done or fully appreciated on our own. The pace was not too slow or too fast and was a little bit challenging all the way. He was well prepared and brought all the supplies we needed. I showed up with only good sneakers and a hat. Someone let on that is was my birthday and when we got to the summit he even had a birthday snack for me. So you'll know this is not a fake review, I will ding them for one thing. He took pictures of us with his phone as well as ours. Yes, we got home and now have the opportunity to purchase his photos at $6 a piece..Real nice pictures but...Not the best move. I like doing tours while traveling and this was a good one. Well worth it as a private for two people. I would do another one of their tours or a second route on this same Sonora Desert hike through Squaw Peak.

Thank you so much for this review. Matt is --well I am going to say it-- one of THE BEST guides in the valley hands down. We are extremely lucky he chooses to be a part of our Wild Bunch Desert Guides hiking and mountain bike family. Thank you so much for the kind words and taking time to point our his skill set which includes being prepared, making good judgement calls on levels, being safe and having secret super hero powers to know when a birthday is being celebrated. Okay okay, your wife let the cat out of the bag:) Glad you enjoyed the treat he chose himself and provided. We are happy to help celebrate special occasions. The one part of the review that needs a little correction on is the statement regarding photos and cost v free. All of our pictures are in fact free to our guests. As a boutique service that is one part of the experience my team is extremely good at. Taking great pictures for all of our guests in a safe scenaio is definately something we try to make happen. I personally emailed you the instructions on how to go back into the link and download them off your PC or Phone for free. I appreciate you being honest and direct in the review as to the issue you had--and of course we want to make sure it is taken very seriously and corrected. Photos are memories. We want those memories to be shared and for you to have them as part of the experience. We love when all of our guests take time to craft and submit open, honest and direct reviews.
