Ho'okipa Beach is considered the windsurfing capital of the world, you can enjoy watching wind surfers, kite boarders and surfers challenge the oceans waves and shoreline winds. This is also the Threatened Hawaiian Green Sea Turtle capital of Maui, with 200-pound turtles feeding along the shoreline and basking on the beach all day long.

Ke‘anae Point
Small Hawaiian villages doing their best to live like the Hawaiians of old. Hunting pigs and growing taro, bread fruit, and Bananas are all big parts of everyday life in this small community. It’s also the site of the famous Half Way to Hana Snack stand; shave ice, fresh coconut, cold drinks and of course the Original Fresh Baked Banana Bread. The Keanae overlook and peninsula offer views of one of the largest taro farms in Hawaii.

It is fairly easy to access the waterfall from here. Some people like to take a dip in the chilly waters by the waterfall and on a hot day. Wear swim suit layered and bring change of clothes. Don't forget the towels.

Driver Rory was excellent, experienced, and knew all the curves and best stops on the road as he has been doing it for decades. The road can be a bit rough and winding, especially around the cliffs along the back side of the island. Made several stops at waterfalls, lookouts, and banana bread. Lunch was provided by a roadside stand with huli-huli chicken and Rory brought super-sweet pineapple. A bit long, by the end we were ready to get off the van, but that's the nature of the tour. Overall it was about 11 hours from when we left to when we made it back to Lahaina. Still glad we decided not drive ourselves and got to experience way more than we could have on our own,.

Wonderful tour to Hana with our guide Rory. He was so knowledgeable, entertaining, and confident driving this rough road with its many twists and turns. We made many stops along the way to take pictures and enjoy the sights. The lunch of Huli Huli chicken was a nice change from the usual tour sandwiches. The pineapple Rory brought was sweet and delicious. You will learn a lot about Hawaii's culture, history, and interesting facts along the way and we highly recommend taking this tour. *There is no category for family older than teens on Tripadvisor. That seems wrong.

I took this tour and it far exceeded my expectations, Kay was extremely knowledgeable and very accommodating. He prepared freshly baked snacks in the morning, and professionally prepared a Maui Gold pineapple that was as advertised. I suggest skipping coffee and and limit your liquid intake as there are few bathrooms along the way, but if you're comfortable being one with nature then this isn't an issue. Ride: nice spacious van, Kay would periodically check in on us to see if the inside temp was OK, road was rough and if you get carsick easily prepare accordingly, Kay is an experienced driver and it shows. He was full of knowledge and many tidbits of information throughout the whole trip Food: Water, Juice, Fresh Fruit, Baked Goods were all provided and readily available to anyone that wanted any. The local eatery was delicious and very accommodating to our vegetarian travel buddy Sights: can't say enough about how beautiful the road to Hana was, we had plenty of stops and got so many beautiful pictures, from the waterfalls to the black sand beach it was visually stunning from beginning to end. Overall: we were exhausted at the end but loved every minute, it was definitely a long drive but would highly recommend it to all our friends!
