Come explore the Alaska Wilderness off the road. Explore in a guided and climate controlled Search & Rescue Fat Truck/Sherp while staying safe from the weather, bugs, and the occasional wild animal. This 3 Hour tour takes you off road up steep mining trails to vista views, teaches you about the local history, and geological formations near Denali National Park in an adventurous off road Fat Truck search & rescue vehicle. (Plan on about 3.5-4 hours if using the the hotel shuttle service from select hotels during the summer season)

This family owned fun started off picking us up on time at our hotel in their small bus. It was our family of 4 and another couple. Our kids are teens. The bus was very clean and quick getting us to the location of the fat tire vehicle. They provide a portable potty once you get there. The scenery was absolutely beautiful. Every person got a chance to be up front and center in the vehicle. Tim took us all on the lake and we floated with this amphibious vehicle and splashed around then we went on our adventure throughout the trails, hills and riverbed. Tim was so funny and knowledgeable about so much stuff including the Alaskan land, history, rocks, animals.. His personality really made us laugh. Thank you for that unique experience for our son's birthday! (And then we got taken back to our hotel. Booo)

Thanks Joel for picking me up for the adventure on the Fat truck and taking pictures as we went into Otto Lake. Enjoyed riding along with Tim as he told us stories about living in Alaska….moose stories, Bear stories. I’ll look at the alder plant in a different way, now that you explained about it and other unique plants as we enjoyed the views of Healy and the Alaska backcountry. A lesson in Geology was interesting as we stopped and checked out the rocks on Dry Creek. This is a fun and unique experience. A safe and fun way to see the Alaska terrain.

My husband and I had the BEST time today in the Fat Truck! The ride was exciting and educational! The owner and tour guide Joel is a local Alaskan resident and he was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area! He shared lots of great stories, answered questions and made the trip feel very personal and special as we explored the mountains, riverbed and Otto Lake! Highly recommend!
