It was a great experience, we took a 11, 10 and 4 year old and they all enjoyed it. Would recommend seeing if you have never seen them. We will do again

We went on the behind the scene tour, it was a little pricey but SO worth it. First you go through the 1.5 hour ā€œyou feed tourā€ which was great, so do this even if you do not do the behind the scene. It is amazing to see these large carnivores up close and snatching chicken legs ā€œsnacksā€ from our guide, and we were able to feed them using a push plunger (which is nearer than it sounds). We had a short break, and Sam, who was wonderful and so very passionate and knowledgeable about the animals, took us around for approx 3 hours to learn about each animal on display, learned the total story of the animal and how they wound up in the Sanctuary. We also got to watch him feed some of them their full evening dinner, something totally worth seeing that close up. They have other animals you donā€™t get to see on the normal tour, such as wolf hybrids, a pig, foxes, a llama, and a horse. They are not in this to make money, they are doing it for the love of animals that have been exploited, and is so very obvious by the way they talk about each animal. If I was ever in this area again, this would always be on my must see list.

We wanted to do something that would only take a couple hours. This tour was perfect. We learned quite a bit about the big cats. Our whole family enjoyed our visit.
