Right across from Soldier Field and next to the Shedd Aquarium. This is a 3 story monster of a building. I'm going to start with my biggest negative first. There is no coat check or lockers to store your heavy winter coats. This is a huge negative to me having to carry my heavy winter coat everywhere. I don't care if it's free or $5 like at Shedd, this is a bad oversight of the Field. Next my biggest piece of advice. Make this your only plan of the day. You could easily spend 6 hours here. I sadly only planned for about 2 1/2 hours and only saw maybe 40%. Thankfully it was the 40% I most wanted to see. This place can be quite the maze. Wandering in multiple directions in each exhibit. I saw dinosaurs and Gems. I saw Chinese Jade and Roman Jewelry. I saw Pacific Islanders exhibits of all sorts. I saw meteorites and fools gold. Plus this was just the 3rd floor. There is something for everyone here to see and love. This and Shedd are probably the two best attractions in Chicago. Overall an easy 5 star review. Would I return? Duh, I have another 60% to enjoy. Next time I'll come with plenty of time.

The exhibits were all great, plenty of information. My favorites were Inside Ancient Egypt and Sue the T-Rex. I am officially a big fan of Sue, like so many others, and really loved learning all we know about her. Why I gave this three stars was due to my staff experiences. Upon checking in the lady who issued our tickets had a bad attitude about my needing her to speak up. The facility is loud and she used a small voice that made it extremely difficult to hear. I told her we needed two tickets and she ended up charging me for two adults instead of one child and one adult. I did not know the prices going in and I took her word on the price. It makes the world of difference when customer service tries just a little harder than the effort she gave.
