My husband and I booked a day trip (boomerang) to float Santa Elena Canyon. We, and others who booked the trip, all gathered at the meeting spot in Terlingua where there was ample space to park our car. We were offered rubber rain boots to keep out feet warm and a cooler to store our food. We then loaded up in the van and drove about an hour to the canyon. Majestic doesn't even come close to describing the area. The water level was low so we used kayaks instead of canoes and had no trouble navigating the river. We were beginners but had no issues. Our guide, Jeff, was amazing. He was so knowledgeable about the flora/fauna/history of the area and kept us entertained during the entire trip there and back. He also recommended hikes and restaurants that we could try as well as offered to help with anything we might need during our entire stay in the area. We thoroughly enjoyed this excursion and would highly recommend it.

I actually float the Rio Grande with these folks every chance I get, which is several times a year. I own property in Terlingua and have many friends and family who come to visit me. Doing the River with these folks is a given when I have guests! I know they will have an awesome time and will come back to see me and enjoy the beauty of the Rio Grande and the region!

Erin took us on the Boquillas daytrip and we loved it. She is a wonderful guide--friendly and knowledgeable. We can't wait to book our next hike or Rio Grande float with BB Boating & Hiking Co.
