Float the Canyons of the Rio Grande

Overview
Descend into the many canyons of the Rio Grande by boat. Float through the spectacular scenery of the international boundary. The water level determines which canyon we float through and whether we float in canoes, kayaks, or rafts. This scenic float is great for all ages. Come explore the Chihuahuan Desert and learn about the geology, plants, and history. This is a full day trip, you will be responsible for bringing your lunch, and we have the coolers to pack your lunch in.

We were really happy with our experience from start to finish for the 2-day river trip. Erin was communicative and answered any questions during the reservations process. Our guides, Ryan K and Chris R, were very knowledgeable and had lots of interesting facts and stories to tell throughout the trip. They went above and beyond to make sure everyone in the group was enjoying themselves and had what they needed. They were also great with the kids. The camp food was really good and there was more than enough to eat, I will be thinking about lasagna and warm brownies the whole drive home. The scenery was beyond words. Sleeping inside a canyon with dark skies and bright stars, waking up to walls of rocks and peaceful flowing water is such a unique experience. Thanks for an awesome adventure!! It was one for the books!

We took a four-day canoe trip and had the best time. Our guides Erin and Annie were wonderful. Erin is one of the co-owners along with her sister and I am extremely impressed. She is a delightful person, extremely knowledgeable and capable and personable, with crazy-good organizational skills. It was easy to see why this company has been successful. If you have the time and enjoy the peace and quiet of the wilderness, I strongly recommend a multi-day trip so you can really immerse yourself and get away from it all, with a capable guide to look after you and take the rough edges off of roughing it.

It was a definite pleasure to spend 4 days on the river together. Hopefully we get to spend more nights under the stars together.

We did the full day Hot Springs Canyon Trip. It was the only full day option available with the seasonal water level. I give the company/guides a 5 star. The Rio Grande only gets 3 stars. If youā€™re coming to Big Bend hoping to have an exciting day paddling on the river, youā€™ll need to notch down your expectations. The river runs very low and slow, kinda like Terlingua. But like so many things in this life, itā€™s not what you do, but who you do it with, and in this case, Iā€™m very glad to have spent the day with Katie, Casey, Chris, and my family, ā€œpaddlingā€ the Hot Springs Canyon.
