Florida Bioluminescence Kayaking Tour | Haulover canal (Titusville)

Overview
Florida bioluminescence is the #1 kayaking trip in the Orlando, Cocoa beach area. We are located about an hour from Universal Studios and The Walt Disney world area theme parks. Our "tourist tours or "visitor tours", as the locals would call them, are ideal for a romantic evening on the water or an expedition in the name of science with the little ones (as long as they are over 5yrs of age). Our tour guides will guide you through the Indian River lagoon and show you something truly magical as we make our way through mangrove trails and the shallow flats of the lagoon.

We will spend a leisurely 90 mins on the water during this tour. You may want to leave the camera at home for this excursion, as the bioluminescence is very hard to photograph unless you have professional equipment.

Guy, Chase and Casey led a fantastic bioluminescence tour through the Indian River Lagoon. I wish it was longer than 90 minutes because it was so much fun. We had a perfect New Moon night so everything in the water was lit up with the bioluminescence. Great tour for a great price with great guides!

Somebody give the 'guide' a script! How many times can you ask people "Hey - do you like the bioluminescence? It's called phytoplankton."?? CONS: I think there were three 'guides' with us on the late night bioluminescence tour. Two didn't speak; they hovered on the outskirts of the group. The third rambled about restaurants, some long-ago bobcat sighting, and who knows what, then would shoot off in a direction without notice (since his single kayak was faster than our tandem boats). One person asked the other 'guide' what the body of water was called; he said he didn't know. Their website says they will leave without you if you arrive late, but they accepted a large late group and went through the legal spiel of 'here's how to paddle' demo a second time, while the rest of us got eaten by bugs (wear pants, Deet isn't enough!). You figure that out when the employee is wearing a hat with full face netting. The "tour" was basically wandering aimlessly in the dark with a bunch of strangers in boats with no directions, no narration. Clear bottom added little to the experience. There were at least two other companies working off this same launch area; sounded like they had more narration. PROS: Launch area was easy to find. They held everyone's phones in the truck so they didn't get lost/wet. Yes, the water glowed when you disturbed it and that was cool, but that was about the extent of the excitement. No worries with kids - the water is very shallow and life vests are provided.

Highly recommend this tour! So cool to see the bioluminescence. Bonus was seeing a shooting star the night we went. Our guide, Miles, was professional, knowledgeable and fun. Parker and Jackson were great help. I had a little anxiety about being on the water at night but felt safe with these guys. So glad to check this off my bucket list and I will go again.
