Your day begins with a 30-minute or 1-hour or airboat tour deep into the 4,200 acres (1,699 hectares) of protected swamps, marshes and rivers that make up the Central Florida Everglades. Your US Coast Guard captain will give you an in-depth look at the gators, birds, eagles, trees and plants that make up these beautiful wetlands. We did the hour long airboat tour with park admission. Plan on spending a few hours there as the park has gator shows and other exhibits. There is a petting zoo as well. Our captain was fun and informative. We saw several gators on our tour. Early morning is a good time to go, before it gets too hot.

We booked an airboat ride for late afternoon not realising that we could have spent all day here. Captain Todd took us around the lake and was really informative about the local wildlife, this was the best airboat ride we have been on in Florida. We didn't realise just how much there was actually there for us to do. If we had known about all the different shows that are put on and how much there was to see we would probably have booked the lunch or taken a picnic. One of the best value days out of the whole holiday.

Our kids ages 8 to 16 enjoyed the airboat ride and zoo. A fun educational experience - the staff were great!
