Let me first address the negative reviews I have seen. When you book this tour, you get a concise email explaining what to expect. It includes the duration and a pre-apology for when he may come off as brusque (he was never condescending). He is trying to move 40 people via subway and through the streets of Manhattan, all the while keeping them together. He repeats the apology and the reasoning for it before the tour starts. Nobody left our group before the end. Yes, the places were small, but nobody was rushed to eat. One place we took turns sharing the tables. This is a great way to explore areas of New York away from the tourist areas. Our tour was one subway ride and then maybe a 10 minute walk to the main area we were exploring. Which in this case was Hell's Kitchen. All the food was delicious. Our group of 40 was very international. We had folks from Norway, Germany, Scotland, Spain, Australia, Argentina, and the Philippines (among others). The group was quite amiable and had no problems striking up a conversation during the various opportunities to wait. Once the tour was over, the host was willing to hang around a bit and give additional restaurant recommendations for later in your trip. We had a chance to take up one of his recommendations and it did not disappoint. We will definitely use this company again the next time we visit NYC.

We had a great time being introduced to some of the variety of foods New York has to offer. We would have never have tried if not for the food tour. Got to meet people from all over the world as well which was a bonus in our group. Always fun seeing people's responses to the food which is as enjoyable and what makes the tour with a group fun then just with family. They also gave us many suggestions on where to go and eat and fun things to do in the city and directions and best way to get around. Suggest doing at the beginning of your trip to save money and try some of the restaurants while visiting. Thanks for the fun time. We always enjoy trying a variety of foods as well as seeing a variety of things each state or country has to offer.
