My family and I were very disappointed with this tour and left after two stops. The guide was rude and treated us like children. We started the tour off with a 15-minute break due to one of the restaurant's requests. The two stops we did stay for were pizza (that we ate on the sidewalk) and fried chicken. This just wasn't what we were expecting for a food tour. We did several tours while in NY and this was the only tour that we were disappointed in. We left the tour and found a nice local sitdown restaurant and enjoyed our lunch.

It is truly unfortunate when someone books a tour, reads nothing about it and then complains. What is worse is when someone writes an incomplete review to make something seem different than what it is. We have noticed this pattern in ten years of a very limited amount of bad reviews. There was no request from a restaurant for a break. We used that break to provide unbiased restaurant recommendations to help our guests eat great and save money for the rest of their trip. We know of no other food tour that does this and it is a hallmark of our tours and one of the reasons we have won the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence nine years in a row. We don't know what this guest was expecting nor do we know what they mean when they say they weren't expecting pizza and fried chicken. The About section on our booking platform details exactly what we do and that we are a non-gourmet tour. No one was treated like a child. We have certain safety rules we ask the group to follow and some people just don't cooperate. Since our tours are not a standard food tour not reading about our tour first leads to different expectations and reviews like this. Our reviews are overwhelming positive and it does not work for us or the guests when people don't read about the tour first. Please join us as early in your stay as possible so we can help you out for the rest of your trip.

I wouldn't recommend doing this tour - there are far better ways to spend your limited time in NYC. I did the midtown mix tour. We spent a lot of time listening to Corey (the guide) give us instructions...on walking speed, not blocking sidewalks, standing in line, standing in a horseshoe, standing where he could see us...I understand he needs to tell everyone the logistics but it felt way overdone and very officious, like a teacher and group of kids. I left the tour early after 2 stops - we were 2 hours in and had so far eaten pizza and fried chicken. One of the other participants overheard that pizza was also to be the third stop - although Corey wouldn't confirm that when we asked. The last 2 were to be sweet stops. I met some nice people on this tour but felt there were far better ways to spend my NY time and was disappointed that this seemed to be in essence a 'non-chain fast food'tour. I thought it would be more 'uniquely NY'. To be fair, I cant say how stops 3-5 were, and the many other tours Corey runs might be great - i havent done them so wouldn't know. I will say though that I wasn't the only one who left after 2 stops - there were about 8 of us (myself and 2 groups) who left. That was about 1/3 of the total tour group - tells you something. Do yourself a favour, save your time for other NY activities.

Sorry the tour wasn't for you but everything about the format was given to you first. Part of the fun is that stops are a surprise but we don't repeat main item food types nor do we tell our stops in advance so someone was just making something up. An example would be that we wouldn't go to a regular pizza place twice but a bakery might offer pizza as an option but it would not be their primary focus. Thanks for writing. Our tours are award winning but we understand the tour doesn't work for everyone.

Corey was an excellent tour guide, extremely knowledgeable, very friendly and well organised. We werenā€™t sure what to expect but we had an unforgettable food experience at all five places we stopped. Highly recommend to all couples, individuals or families that love good food :) thanks Corey!!!!!
