NYC food scene can be daunting. If you depended on Yelp and went for a popular joint, you might spend much time waiting in line, break the bank, or both. Not an ideal situation to be in as time is precious while touring an expensive city like NYC. Food on Foot tour was a refreshing take to let folks enjoy great NYC food and avoid paying too much or waiting too long. Our family of four had a blast with Corey shepherded us and other out-of-towners to navigate the food scene in Midtown. It was very clear to us that Corey was passionate about showing us what made NYC food so memorable and also taught us the history behind each establishment we visited. The highlights for us included the delicious NY style pizza (upside down and regular thin crust), the tacos (so much flavor in the carnitas), the Roberto sandwich, and of course the sweets. We highly recommend everyone who wants to have a taste where New Yorkers frequent to join this tour with Corey. One thing is to make sure you get your MetroCard before the start of the tour cause you won't have time to get it during the tour.

My husband and I are both go getters when we travel. We like to get the most that we can out of a city, explore like crazy and experience it like a local. This tour definitely hit all those points for us. We loved the quick pace and hidden gems that Corey took us to. Know what to expect though. This tour is not a slow moving, historical synopsis of New York. It is not a seven course meal. It is also not a hand holding, idiot proof private restaurant experience. It IS a great adventure for the eager, positive and enthusiastic traveler. This tour is a local NY guy that gives you his opinion about yummy bites off the beaten path and lots of interesting tidbits about NYC. This tour does require you to pay attention and listen. It does require you to wait in line with a group and pay for the food you buy. Your ticket pays for the guide's expertise. Corey is very clear in his directions and very knowledgable. He is also very forthcoming that the places he takes you to are regular cheap spots that he personally likes to frequent. We had an amazing experience. As a bonus, we were initially apprehensive about figuring out the intricate subway system but after Corey's tour felt confident to navigate it on our own for the remainder of our trip. We loved exploring more of the areas that Corey took us to and learning all the info that he provided. Can't wait to go back and try some of his other tours! "Stick in the mud" travelers need not apply but everyone else should have a great time!

A few times a year someone captures the essence of our tours in a review in a way no one else does. Not only did you do that but you described the tour in a blunt way that no one else ever has. We loved your line: It IS a great adventure for the eager, positive and enthusiastic traveler. That is true because we are not the same standard food tour everyone else does. And you made our day when you mentioned you started using the subway after the tour. Many people (and you were one of them) just don't realize that the best way to get around the city is usually by subway. What a treat for us to make your trip better in so many ways. You probably did not realize that we offer several ticket options and although the ticket you bought was for the tour itself we also offer a ticket option with food included. Either way you get to choose what you like on our tours. Thank you for realizing we really care about our guests and their whole trip and thanks for choosing us.

If youā€™re in New York you need to do this tour! Food was cheap, and good! Corey will also ask where youā€™re staying and give you great spots for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Itā€™s a must do!
