Easy flow to this tour. Started on sacred ground at the 'gates of Charleston' and included a stop at Emanuel A.M.E. Church. Leared what a "Protest" house was as well as up close views of how houses were built -- blue paint secret. Enjoyed very much with much Franklin Williams.

We didn't cover a lot of literal ground, but we covered SO MUCH historical ground. I learned a LOT on this tour--as I hoped to. I didn't want to do a corporate tour that just told me about how great all these white guys were. I wanted to learn about the real Charleston, and I got that from Frank. And this isn't just Black History--this is real American history. Every tour should be including this kind of historical information, but lucky for us, at least we've got Frank! Definitely recommend! [also, this tour was conducted during the COVID19 pandemic and was safely conducted with Frank remaining fully masked and encouraging participants to take any necessary precautions)

My experience with this tour and Frank the guide and historian was incredible. I found this true historical and architectural journey through the history of the transatlantic slave trade and the development of Charleston to be outstanding. Every tour in Charleston should tell the full history of colonization, enslavement, and the contributions of Black and Africans in America. This tour stands above the rest! I hope all Americans will take this tour. I also hope Black people know there are tours that will speak to our true history of creativity, resilience, and brilliance.
