Freedom Trail: Small Group Tour of Revolutionary Boston (2.5 Hours)

Overview
Boston's principal role in launching the American Revolution is linked by the brick-lined Freedom Trail. This world-famous pedestrian path is best experienced on foot, in a small group, with a knowledgeable local guide! This 2.5-hour tour travels the trail from Boston Common to Copp's Hill Terrace, providing guests a chance to see ALL SIXTEEN official landmarks on the Freedom Trail.

Our small-group walking tour delves deeply into the years 1760 to 1776, the tumultuous years leading into the American Revolution. We walk in the footsteps of Colonial Bostonians, all of whom grappled with the difficult—yet essential—question of loyalty or rebellion to crown and country.

With a captivating storytelling approach, Hub Town Tours provides the perfect introduction to Boston's status as America's "Cradle of Liberty." As we travel past historic landmarks from Revolutionary Boston, your guide shares the gripping story of a small colonial town careening toward war with a global empire.

Toured with Drew, great tour, knowledgeable, funny and able to keep the group moving. Worth the price and the time. Be prepared to walk at a good pace. Some steps. Ends far away from where you started so plan to walk back. No cabs. So you’ll need to walk back or call Uber or Lyft. Good luck Drew!!! August is hot, tolerable but not for the unhealthy.

We won't lie, Summer 2022 has been a real scorchah here in Boston! However, our guides are always aware of keeping a reasonable pace and finding shade during the hottest summer days. Thank you for braving the heat, Christina, and leaving this 5-star recommendation for Drew! We know that he'll be very grateful to hear it.

I can't recommend this walking tour enough. I'm born and raised in Boston and I absolutely enjoyed it. I learned some new things which is always great. Boston is a wonderful walking city and it really is the best way to see Boston. The tour hits all the highlights on the Freedom Trail. Our guide Sarah was amazing. She was incredibly nice and very thoughtful with the group. She kept a great pace keeping in mind those in the group who were a little slower. I thought that was great. The day I did the tour was pretty hot and sunny. Sarah was fantastic at finding the shade when we stopped at the different points of interest. She also gave fair warning to our group that the last part of the walk was the longest and that we'd be walking in the sun. It was hot but I appreciated the heads up! The break at Faneuil Hall is well timed and allows the perfect amount of time for a restroom break and to grab an ice cold drink. Or ice cream! If you're in Boston, take the time and do the tour. It is well worth it. Very informative and interesting.

We always love receiving the true Bostonian's seal of approval, Carol! Sarah may be a recent transplant to the area for her graduate studies, but folks can always tell how much she loves this town and its history. In addition to knowing the history, Sarah is always keenly aware of guest comfort, as you note. It's hard to enjoy a tour if you're sweating and exhausted! One of the added benefits of our small-group experience is being able to pay attention to each and every guest on tour, as well as find those precious pockets of shade during the summer. We'll pass along your gracious and thoughtful comments to Sarah, who will certainly be pleased to hear them!
