Freedom Trail: Small Group Tour of Revolutionary Boston (2.5 Hours)

Overview
Boston's principal role in launching the American Revolution is linked by the brick-lined Freedom Trail. This world-famous pedestrian path is best experienced on foot, in a small group, with a knowledgeable local guide! This 2.5-hour tour travels the trail from Boston Common to Copp's Hill Terrace, providing guests a chance to see ALL SIXTEEN official landmarks on the Freedom Trail.

Our small-group walking tour delves deeply into the years 1760 to 1776, the tumultuous years leading into the American Revolution. We walk in the footsteps of Colonial Bostonians, all of whom grappled with the difficult—yet essential—question of loyalty or rebellion to crown and country.

With a captivating storytelling approach, Hub Town Tours provides the perfect introduction to Boston's status as America's "Cradle of Liberty." As we travel past historic landmarks from Revolutionary Boston, your guide shares the gripping story of a small colonial town careening toward war with a global empire.

We engaged Ted on a beautiful Saturday morning in August for a private walk. He is just totally engaging and entertaining. Getting a bunch of strangers and connecting with them irrespective of their personalities and backgrounds is a great skill and I always find it fascinating. Ted is very well educated and prepared. He tells the wonderful story of the freedom trail in enthralling fashion and the few hours fly by. At the conclusion you leave sated and uplifted: happy that you met a great storyteller

I appreciate your kind words, David, which are uplifting in their own right! The Freedom Trail holds a special place in the narrative of our young nation, and I count myself quite fortunate to have all around me such incredible history and generous guests like yourself. Thank you for spending a morning in Boston with me—reviews like yours are what make tours rewarding for guides like me!

Outstanding experience hosted by Nick, one of the best guides I’ve ever seen anywhere. He used the stops along the route to weave a coherent, very interesting story that kept our interest and taught us more about Boston and the lead up to the American revolution than I ever dreamed would happen. He’s a great story teller and this tour is highly recommended.

Oral history is how humans passed along their culture and history for millennia, and Nick would've been right at home with the bards of yore! Revolutionary Boston is a stunning (and small) world, and we're so lucky to have a talent like Nick leading tours for our small business. Thank you for supporting both Nick and Hub Town Tours, Kenneth!

We did the 2 1/2 hour freedom tour hosted by Nick. This could easily have been an average experience looking at unconnected buildings and graveyards, but not with Nick. He is a wonderful story teller and used the stops to tell a complete, connected story. I know so much more about Boston and the history leading up to the revolution than I thought I would. I’ve taken walking tours all over the world and this was among the best and Nick rates among the best guides ever.

Nick has been earning praise for his tour all year long, but some testimonials really stand out—thank you for sharing such laudatory comments, Kenneth! Our small business is committed to bringing the Freedom Trail to life through cohesive, narrative storytelling, and it sounds like Nick really exceeded expectations. We'll be sure to pass your outstanding feedback along to Nick as well! Take care.
