Freedom Trail: Small Group Tour of Revolutionary Boston (2.5 Hours)

Overview
Boston's principal role in launching the American Revolution is linked by the brick-lined Freedom Trail. This world-famous pedestrian path is best experienced on foot, in a small group, with a knowledgeable local guide! This 2.5-hour tour travels the trail from Boston Common to Copp's Hill Terrace, providing guests a chance to see ALL SIXTEEN official landmarks on the Freedom Trail.

Our small-group walking tour delves deeply into the years 1760 to 1776, the tumultuous years leading into the American Revolution. We walk in the footsteps of Colonial Bostonians, all of whom grappled with the difficult—yet essential—question of loyalty or rebellion to crown and country.

With a captivating storytelling approach, Hub Town Tours provides the perfect introduction to Boston's status as America's "Cradle of Liberty." As we travel past historic landmarks from Revolutionary Boston, your guide shares the gripping story of a small colonial town careening toward war with a global empire.

Ted was informative and entertaining. He was ready for any question. I appreciated how he engaged with kids in the group, respected their input, and kept their interest. I especially liked the way he filled in my basic understanding of famous events, places and people. I learned a lot, walked a lot and smiled a lot!

Alas, if only we'd trademarked "Ted Talk" a decade ago... Thanks for choosing our small business for your Freedom Trail experience—there's no higher praise for a tour guide than "learned a lot, walked a lot, and smiled a lot!"

Matthew was amazing. However, he was hard to hear sometimes, despite him being able to project his voice really well. I've been to a lot of these tours overseas and they use these cool personal radios. I felt like there was too much silent walking because of the lack of narration. Matthew was amazing when he spoke, funny and knowledgeable (and loud!), but I had to keep pace with him and fight others to hear about stuff between stops. Overall, I do recommend.

Thank you for rating us five stars and recommending Matthew's tour! He's an amazingly dedicated guide who really know his stuff, but Boston does have rare days that are noisier than even the most practiced, projected voice. We studiously keep our groups small—never more than 16 guests—and avoid voice boxes along the Freedom Trail, out of courtesy to other visitors and groups visiting town. However, we are always open to ways to improve the guest experience, and will look into high-quality voice amplification options to handle the noisiest Boston days.

Nick Roberts, our tour guide, was fantastic. He presented the events of the birth of America in a way that was engaging and interesting instead of dry and boring. I have never been that big of a fan of history but he drew us in and brought it to life in a way I truly appreciate.

While ours is definitely a history tour, all guides seek to bring the past to life with engaging storytelling, instead of disjointed trivia or dry facts. And Nick is absolutely gifted in that manner! Thanks for choosing Hub Town Tours for your Freedom Trail experience while in Boston!
